Slam poetry, a form of performance poetry that combines the elements of performance, writing, competition, and audience participation.​
​
Please follow the directions to complete the assignment​
1. Open the link to the poem and download it​
2. Read the directions​
   a.  Be sure to choose a topic/subject that you are very passionate about. ​
   b. The more you’re invested in the  topic, the easier it will be to write about it and share your       opinion. ​
  c. First you must create a poem that is a  minimum of 3 stanzas (“paragraphs” for poems that include about 4 lines each). ​
   d. Once you have written  your poem, you are to complete a few (2­-3) rough read throughs to make sure that the message you  intended to share is being communicated with your audience. ​

1. Download/ open the file below
2. The worksheet is composed of one poem entitled "I Wondered Lonely as a Cloud" with a annotations of specific lines. You are going to read the poem and determine the figurative language for each underlined phrase. In addition you are going to explain the meaning of the underlined phrase. For example.. "She is sweet pie.."-Means: The girl is very nice!!!
3. To complete your work, please open a new document and write the line number from the poem. Afterwards type your answers next to the line number. Each line number must have the figurative language used and its meaning!!
