​1)Pretend that it is February of 1610.  The Jamestown settlement is going through a terrible time of disease and starvation.  YOU are the leader of the Jamestown settlement and put in charge of writing a letter to King James I of England.  What would you ask from him?  How could he help the settlement?  Should he cancel the charter that allows for the Jamestown settlement?
Write a letter to King James I that is at least two paragraphs long and cites facts from the Newsela article.  THIS ASSIGNMENT IS DUE MONDAY, NOVEMBER 16.
