Good morning, scholars!
I CAN: DESCRIBE THE ROLE INDUSTRIALIZATION PLAYED IN THE EXPANSION OF THE UNITED STATES.
Today we will be discussing (in GOOGLE MEET) and you will reading how industrialization (the rise of factories) lead to the expansion and development of the United States.
We have been discussing how the United States has been pushing westward in the early to mid 1800s. Adventurous souls traveled vast distances in search of land, opportunities...and sometimes even gold!!
As the country expanded, the population grew and so did the demand for goods and services. Advances in technology and transportation were needed to meet the goals of the new nation.
We will be reading how the rise of factories in the Northern parts of the United States greatly increased production of goods and services. The South remained mainly devoted to agriculture (farming).
These were exciting times for the new nation. I look forward to discussing all of this with you today
